    Yes.

I think no, but….neither should it be taught as truth. Children enjoy any story one tells them, however I think its the context that should matter the most. as in Jesus wont be angry at them for being naughty, and all the other bullshit the bible spouts.context. I can read my children Harry Potter but in the right context its just a fairy tale.

    • I have no problem telling my kid it’s not true. It’s a fact. We couldn’t have come from Adam and Eve, Noah’s ark is not possible in any way, shape or form, surviving in the belly of a whale is also not possible. When things aren’t true, they simply are not true and there’s more harm in keeping that from your kids than telling them straight up.

    Think you may be right

  • Here’s the thing; I was raised by; and was surrounded by; people who are religious, but I was never taught that the Bible was true. I was told that it was a book of parables and stories meant to teach lessons; some of which are useful and some of which are now outdated.

I wouldn’t necessarily volunteer a thorough exposition of religious horse-shit to kids, but I have no qualms doing it if the subject ever comes up. I’d advocate waiting after they stop believing in Santa Claus though …
